Q.

How do I access my benefits?

A.

You may contact Legal Club’s Member Services Department at 800-305-6816 for all your plan benefit questions. Service Advocates are available to assist you 8:00 am to 8:00 pm EST, Monday through Friday.

 

Q.

What do I use for proof of membership?

A.

Legal Club mails each member a Welcome Kit that contains a Member Guidebook and a membership card which you may present to your attorney.

 

Q.

If I lose my ID card?

A.

Contact Legal Club’s Member Services Department at 800-305-6816 for a replacement Welcome Kit. Keep in mind that an ID card is not required by plan attorneys to provide service; Legal Club confirms your participation during the referral process.

 

Q.

Can I change my attorney and how often?

A.

Yes, as often as you like, without limit. Simply contact Legal Club's Member Services Department at 800-305-6816.

 

Q.

How close will my attorney be to my home or office?

A.

We will refer you to an attorney for the appropriate law specialty as close to your home or office as possible. It is well worth the trip if you can save thousands of dollars; however, most legal matters can be handled over the phone, by fax or email by any attorney licensed to practice in your state.

 

Q.

Do plan attorneys have to take my case?

A.

Accepting a case is left to the professional judgment of the attorney. Your attorney may determine that the case lacks merit in which case, they are truly trying to save you the time and money of pursuing a potential losing case. If you are not satisfied with the attorney's decision you should call Member Services and request another referral. You may request as many referrals as you like.

 

Q.

Can plan attorneys ask me for a retainer?

A.

Yes they can. Upon completion of an initial free consultation, you and your attorney may decide to proceed with further legal action. This could require a substantial amount of hours being spent on your case by your plan attorney. If such a situation arises, your plan attorney may ask for a retainer based on the estimated number of hours he or she thinks the case will take. As a plan member the retainer will be calculated based on your discounted rate.

 

Q.

Are there any restrictions with my plan?

A.

The plan cannot be used by an eligible dependent against the member. No party can use the plan against the employer, the agent or the plan administrator.

 

Q.

Is this plan insurance?

A.

No. Our plan is a Group Legal Service program that is not insurance in any of the 50 states.
